Defense Against A Headlock
Defense Against a Headlock
All techniques in the next series will be defenses against a headlock
and every technique requires that the attacker grabs his opponent with full power
and the defender, defends with decisive anf fluid movement. A KIHAP and a finish, be
it a lock up or a strike, are required to finish your attacker.
1. You're placed in a side headlock. Pull down to get air. Step behind your attacker,
placing your knee behind his, slip your arm through on same side of attackers body and grab
wrist of attacker with other hand, sit back bringing attacker back down. Finish with elbow
strikes to face or chest.
2. You're placed ina side headlock. Pull down to get air. Reach across to the back of attackers
knee. Push into back of knee while pulling the hair or collar with the other hand. Finish with elbow strike.
3. You're placed in a side headlock. Pull down to get air. Trap shin and push the pressure point behind
the knee forcing him to the ground. Finish by bending the knee up and twisting the ankle. Trap the leg
under body and grab some hair.
4. You're placed in a side headlock. Pullk down to get some air. Strike with a ridgehead to the
groin. Push the elbow over your head while locking the wrist and torquing it forward in the
direction you want to throw your attacker.
DEFENSE AGAINST A HANDSHAKE
All techniques in the next series will be defense against a hostile handshake and every technique
requires that the attacker grab with full power and the defender, defends with decisive and fluid movement.
A KIHAP and a finish, be it a lock up or a strike are required to finish your attacker. At all times when an
attacker has seized one of your hands use a distraction technique.
1. Step in and strike your attacker's radial bone of the wrist with a knife hand. COntinue with a knife hand to neck.
2. Step in and strike your attacker with a palm heel in an upward motion. Continue by rotating the palm up and applying
forward pressure to the fingers, locking the arm up. Then push him backward to the ground.
3.Trap your attacker's hand and step in while turning his palm up. Use your arm to lift your attacker's arm as a fulcrum.
Use that arm to deliberate elbow strike to his solar plexus. Reassert the trap and continue the circular movement to take your
attacker down. Kneel on the near arm to finish.
4. Step to the outside of your attacker while grabbimng the pressure point on the inside of the elbow. Step under the
arm and take him down. PLace the back of the hand on the ground andkneel on his folded arm. Apply pressure or strike the armpit.
5. Step to the outside of your attacker while grabbing the pressure point on the inside of the elbow. Continue the wrist lock
and torque his wrist into him. Keep the lock and raise the elbow(vertical center lock).
6. Trap your attacker's hand and step in while turning his palm up. Torque his wrist downward throwing him forward.
DEFENSE AGAINST SAME SIDE WRIST GRABS
All techniques in the next series will be defenses against a seized wrist from the same side and every technique
requires that the attacker grabs with full power and the defender, defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KIHAP and a finish, \
be it a lock up or a strike, are required to finish your attacker. At all times when an attacker has seized one of your hands use
a distraction technique.
1. Pull your trapped hand up using counter force (palm up). Reach under and grasp his hand and twist his hand counter clockwise.
Apply pressure consistently with both hands throwing him to the floor, elbow up and palm down. Kneel on triceps.
2. Pull your trapped hand up using counter force (palm up). Reach under and grasp his hand and twist his hand counter clockwise. PL
Place pressure using a knifehand againstthe knuckles of the twisted wrist and force his hand back toward him. Finish the same as #1.
3. Pull your trapped hand up using counter force (palm away). Grasp his wrist and release by breaking his thumb. Use a forearm strike
to the back of the arm driving him to the ground. Lock him up.
4. Pull your trapped hand up using counter force (palm away). Grasp his wrist and release by breaking his thumb. Use a front kick to soften
himup whip you whip arm with ewrist lock, kick to face, drive him to ground maintaining wrist lock. Kneel on either side of his arm to maintain hold.
DEFENSE AGAINST A CROSS WRIST GRAB
All techingues in the next series will be defenses against a seized cross wrist and every techniques requires that the attacker grab with full
power and the defended, defends with fluid and decisibve movement. A KIHAP and a finish, be it alock up or strile, are required to finish your attacker.
At all times when an attacker seizes one if your hands use a distration technique.
1. Counter grab your attackers wrist and pressure wuth a k nifehand to the elbow, just above the elbow at tricep. Force your attacker forward to
the ground. Finish with a arm lock.
2. Counter grab your attackers wrist and apply pressure with a palm heel just above the arm pit. Roll shoulder into place while forcing him straight
down. Keep this lock.
3.Grab your attackers, duck under his arm and lever it over your shoulder (palm up). Strike your solar plexus with an elbow and continue
to bring the arm up and over your head. Bring him down and lock the arm by kneeling on it.
4. Grab your attackers wrist, step in striking the face with forearm. Wrap the striking hand over and under the arm placing him in an arm bar.

REQUIRED TECHNIOUES FOR BLUE BELTS
Defense Against Hair Grabs
All techniques in this series will be defenses against a hair grab and every
technique requires that the attacker grab with intent and the defender
defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP and a finish, be it a
lock up or strike, are required to finish your opponent .
1. As your opponent grabs your hair, trap his grasping hand with your cross
hand This is done by holding the hand in place while finishing the rest of
the technique. When you trap the hand simultaneously strike his forearm and
step back driving him to the ground Bend the trapped hand back toward him.
palm up, and apply pressure down pinning the elbw in place.
2. As your opponent grabs your hair, trap his grasping hand with both of
your hands. Step into him and duck under the trapped arm (as in center
lock). Keep the hand trapped and raise your head to increase the pressure.
3. As your opponent grabs your hair, trap his grasping hand with your same
side hand and strike with a vertical punch with the opposite hand Trap his
grasping hand with both of your hands. Step into him and duck under the
trapped arm (as in center lock). As you turn into him, sweep his leg and
pull him forward throwing him to the ground .
4. As your opponent grabs your hair, trap his grasping hand with your cross
hand and strike his armpit with a raised knuckle strike (opposite hand).
Keep the trap and strike his arm just above the elbow with your forearm
dropping him to the ground Maintain the wrist lock and the pressure on the
elbow.
5. As your opponent grabs your hair, trap his grasping hand with your cross
hand. This is done by holding the hand in place while finishing the rest of
the technique. When you trap the hand simultaneously soften your opponent
with a kick. Grasp the trapped hand with both hands and step back, driving
your opponent to the ground. Finish by bending the trapped hand back toward
him palm up and apply pressure to the fingers pinning the elbow in place.
6. As your opponent grabs your hair, trap his grasping hand with your same
side hand, and strike his bicep or crease of the elbow with forearm strike.
This will bend the arm and finish with a arc hand strike to the throat.
Defense Against a Bear Hug from In Front (arms out)
All techniques in this series will be defenses against a bear hug and every
technique requires that the attacker apply the technique with intent and the
defender defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP and a finish, be
it a lock up or strike, are required to finish your opponent .
1. Your opponent grabs you and places you in a bear hug from the front.
Reach around and grab his hair while you reach up to push on his chin. Step
back and twist his head continually applying pressure. Throwing him to the
ground, finish with a strike.
2. Your opponent grabs you and places you in a bear hug from the front. Use
your thumbs to attack the pressure points in his neck. Step across at the
same time and sweep his leg out. Bring him down still using the pressure
points.
3. Your opponent grabs you and places you in a bear hug from the front.
Reach around and grab his hair while you reach up to attack the pressure
points just above the sternum with your fingers. Step forward and drive him
to the ground .
Defense Against a Bear Hug From Behind (arms out)

defender defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP and a finish, be
it a lock up or strike, are required to finish your opponent.
I. Your opponent grabs you from rebind and places you in a bear hug. Drop
your center of gravity and distract him with an elbow strike to the face.
Reach across your body and grab the hand on top. Push the other hand peeling
away. Lift the trapped arm and step backk under the grasped arm and execute
a center lock throw.
2. Your opponent grabs you from rebind and places you in a bear hug. Drop
your center of gravity and distract him with an elbow strike to the face.
Reach across your body and grab the hand on top."Push the other hand peeling
away. As you peel the bottom hand away, trap it, torque it back into him
with both hands, and turn out toward his side. Soften your opponent with a
kick and maintain control with the lock. Pull your opponent to the ground
and apply pressure to the lock.
3. Your opponent grabs you from rebind and places you in a bear hug. Drop
your center of gravity and attack the pressure points between the thumb and
index fingers. As his fingers loosen, grab a finger and lock it. As you turn
out and around your opponent maintain the finger lock and grab the pressure
point under your opponent's throat.
Defense Against a Full Nelson
All techniques in this series will be defenses against a full nelson and
every technique requires that the attacker apply the technique with intent
and the defender defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP and a
finish, be it a lock up or strike, are required to finish your opponent.
I. Your opponent attempts to place you in a full nelson. Pull both arms in
(elbows tight toward the body) and drop your center of gravity. Step forward
twisting your hips into him and throw him.
2. Your opponent attempts to place you in a full nelson. Pull both arms in
(elbows tight toward the body) and drop your center of gravity. Reach across
your body and grab your opponent' s fingers to rotate them down. Grab his
wrist with the other hand and throw him to the ground by torqueing on the
fingers and pulling him across your body.
3. Your opponent has successfully applied a full nelson and you reach back
and grab one of his fingers. Pull the finger to release the hold and rotate
out and back forward applying a finger lock and step back maintaining this
lock.
4. Your opponent has successfully applied a full nelson. Pull both arms in
(elbows tight toward the body) and drop your center of gravity breaking the
hold Reach back and grab the backk of your opponent's head with both hands.
Throw him forward to his back and strike.
5. Your opponent has successfully applied a full nelson. Bring both hands up
so that the backk of your hands support your forehead to protect your neck.
While dropping your center of gravity step away and step rebind your
opponent's leg. Push back to throw him to the ground .
Defense Against a Bear Hug From Behind (arms out)

Defense Against Belt Grabs

it a lock up or strike. are required to finish your opponent At all times
when and opponent has seized you use a distraction technique.
1. Your opponent grabs your reIt, palm down. Distract your opponent with a
kick and trap his hand by reaching across and underneath the grasping ann.
Apply pressure to the elbow with your other arm by striking with the
forearm. Take your opponent to the floor and maintain this lock.
2. Your opponent grabs your reIt, palm down. Trap his hand by stepping back
and grab his wrist palm up. Execute a raised knuckle strike and back fist
simultaneously. then a forearm strike downward. Maintain the trap and place
your knee rehind the near shoulder. Reach around and grab the chin to lock
it up.
3. Your opponent grabs your relt, palm up. Trap his hand by stepping back
and grab his wrist palm up. Distract your opponent with a backhand to the
face and follow it up with reaching under the trapped arm and grab your
opponent' s lapel. Step back and apply pressure to the arm throwing your
opponent
4. Your opponent grabs your relt, palm up. Trap his hand by stepping back
and grab his wrist palm up and distract him with a slap to the face. Grab
his forearm with the slapping hand and Step back torquing the arm and taking
him to the ground Lock him up.

Defense Against Two Hands Grabbing Two Wrists From Behind
All techniques in this series will be defenses against a double wrist grab
from behind and every technique requires that the attacker grab with intent
and the defender, defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP and a
finish, be it a lock up or strike, are required to finish your opponent.
1. Begin by raising one hand then the other to confuse and unbalance yoW'
opponent. Step back and under your raised arm while grabbing his wrist.
Breakaway from his grip an execute a centerlock throw.
2. Same initial movements as in technique number 1, except after steeping
underneath his arm grab both wrists and cross them. Throw him to the ground
while YoW' flipping him to his back.
3. Same initial movements as in technique number 1, except after Stepping
underneath his arm grab both wrists and cross them. Throw him backwards to
the ground.
4. Same initial movements as in technique number 1, except after stepping
underneath his arm grab both wrists and cross them. Lock one of Y°W'
opponents wrists in a vertical lock and step backwards.
5. Step forward and deliver an elbow strike to YoW' opponents solar plexus
then to his face. Step around YoW' opponent and countergrab one of his
hands. Kick him to soften him up then drive him to the ground.
Defense Against Two Hands Grabbing Two Wrists From In front
All techniques in this series will be defenses against a double wrist ,grab
from in front and every technique requires that the attacker grab with
intent and the defender defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP
and a finish, be it a lock up or strike, are required to finish your
opponent.
6. Distract your opponent with a kick and raise your hands up and in
slapping your opponents' hands together. Breakaway and deliver a KI strike
as you step to his side.
7. Distract your opponent with a kick and raise your hands up and in
slapping your opponents' wrists together. Breakaway and use one hand to push
his arms down as you deliver a KI strike.
8. Raise you hand then the other to confuse your' opponent. Step forward and
across using leverage to bring your opponent down.
9. Counter grab one of your opponents wrist as you Step deep in-between your
opponents legs. Breakaway your other hand as you strike your opponent in the
groin. Push up while you pull the trapped hand, throwing him over your back.
10. Counter grab both of your opponents wrists as you step across and
unde,rneath one of his arms. Cross his arms and throw him to the ground.
11. Same initial movements as in technique # 16, except breakaway and
deliver a double knifehand strike to your opponents ribs followed by a
double palm heel strike to the chest.
12. Distract your opponent with a kick as you reach across and trap one
ofhis wrists. Breakaway the other hand and encircle both arms. Step forward
and across placing his trapped arms over your shoulder. Throw him to the
ground.
Defense Against Side Wrist Grab
All techniques in the next series will be defenses against a seized wrist
from the side and every techniqtue requires that the attacker grab with full
power and the defender, defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP
and a finish, be it a lock up or strike, are required to finish your
opponent. At all times when an opponent has seized one of your hands use a
distraction technique.
18. Bring your trapped hand across your body and trap his hand with your
opposite hand. Lock the wrist and take him down using the trapped forearm.
19. Bring your trapped hand across your body and trap his hand with your
opposite hand by reaching under this time. Rotate your elbow over his arm by
locking the elbow and taking him down.
20. Bring your trapped hand across your body and trap his hand with your
opposite hand Pull your opponent into a elbow strike as you break away.
Reach up and around to grab your opponents neck. Throw him forward to the
ground.
21. Bring your trapped hand across your body and trap his hand with your
opposite hand by reaching under this time. Rotate your hips as you step
forward and strike your opponents elbow with your shoulder. Lock him up.
22. Raise your hand go that your palm is facing you. With the other hand
grab his wrist, break away, and use both hands to torque his wrist while
stepping b,ack.
Defense Against A High Bear Hug From In front (Arms In)
All techniques in this series will be defenses against a bear hug and every
technique requires that the attacker apply the technique with intent and the
defender, defends With decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP and a finish,
be it a lock up or strike, are required to finish your opponent
23. Your opponent grabs you from in front and places you in a high bear hug.
Explode your arms up and place your opponent in a bear hug. Step immediately
across and behind your opponent executing a hip throw.
Defense Against Two Hands Grabbing Two Arms From In Front
All techniques in this series will be defenses against double arm grabs and
every technique requires that the attacker grab with intent and the
defender, defends with decisive and fluid movement. A KI HAP and a finish,
be it a lock upor strike, are required to finish your opponent.
25. Your opponent grabs the middle of your sleeves to restrain your
movement. After you distract him lower your center of gravity and step in.
Encircle his arms, trapping them in place and then throw him to the ground.
Immobilize him on the ground.
26. Your opponent grabs the middle of your sleeves to restrain your
movement. Use a cross hand trap as you di'stract him. With the other hand,
circle and trap the same hand. Step back and take him down.
27. Your opponent grabs the middle of your sleeves to restrain your
movement. Use a cross hand trap by going over one of his trapping hands,as
you distract him. Use the other arm to go over the other wrist applying
pressure to both wrists. Take to his knee's and throw him back by using a
strike to the throat.
28. Your opponent grabs the middle of your sleeves to restrain your
movement. Distract him with a low kick and reach across your body to grab
his elbow. Circle your arm around his arm and encircle it, while driving his
elbow upward. Stay to his side to control him and out of his reach.

> the opening created and grab chin and hair, apply torque and take to the
> ground. Attack pressure point under chin and strike.

> 1. Distract with a kick, reach over and under opponents arms. Counter grab
> wrist and apply an arm bar take opponent to ground.
> 2. Distract with a kick, reach over and grab wrist while trapping the

> wrist with your elbow. Torque down on both wrist bringing opponent to
their
> knees. Grab hair and take to the ground. Finish with a strike.
> 3. Grab belt or other garment pull into you as you attack throat wi th
spear
> hand. Drop opponent to ground and drop your knee to the groin. follow up
> with a strike (if necessary).
> 4. Grab wrist with both hands as you distract with a kick. Torque wrist to
> the out side and take to ground pin elbow to ground and apply pressure to
> wrist.

> 2. Distract with a strike to opponents face. Circle opponents arm from the
> inside with your "same side arm". Apply pressure to your opponents arm,
> taking them to the ground and apply an arm bar.)

> 1. Circle with same side arm and lock in place. Strike under your
opponents
> elbow with your other arm. Step through andsweep your opponents leg taking
> them to the ground. Secure using an arm bar.
> 2. Cross trap wrist (palm up) apply downward pressure to forearm, taking
> opponent to their knees. Place in choke hold.

> Defense against Two (2) Hands Grabbing One (1) wrist (9)

> 1. Reach over your opponents arm and grab the back of your own hand. Step
> forward and execute a circular elbow strike to the head. Follow up with a
> back elbow to the face.
> 2. Circle your hand counter clockwise pushing your palm towards your
> opponents face, grab their belt or other garment. Push and pull to take
> down.
> 3. Trap with cross hand and circle clockwise, apply pressure with both of
> your hands and take your opponent down.
> 4. Distract with strike to your opponents face attack the pressure point
in
> the elbow with your thumb, go under their arm, taking them down to their
> back.
> 5. Distract with strike to your opponents face, counter grab with your

> eyes as you clasp your hands together.Break away as you drive your elbow
> into opponents solar plexus continue upward striking under the chin and
then
> downward striking collar bone.
> 9. Step in pointing fingers down grab the back of your own hand. Pull
while
> turning your hips in to break away. Follow up with a strike to solar
plexus.
